The funeral takes place today of Shannon Sinn Féin Councillor Mike McKee.
The 61-year-old Belfast native, who was first elected to Shannon Town Council in 1985, passed away on Friday, following a long illness.
Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald, former Clare TD James Breen and Clare’s Senator Martin Conway are among those who have paid tribute to him.

Mike will be laid to rest following funeral mass in St. John and Paul’s Church Shannon at 1.30 this afternoon.
He’s survived by his wife Eileen, son David and daughter Jeanette.
As a mark of respect, Clare County Council and Shannon Municipal District Office will close to the public today from 12.30pm.
