An Ennis auctioneer claims rental supply in the county town is almost at an emergency level.
House prices in the county jumped by almost 12% in Clare last year, according to a recent MyHome.ie/Davy Property Report.
But while there’s strong demand for houses, the vast majority of available homes are being scooped up by families and first time buyers, with private landlords being forced out of the market.

Cormac O’Sullivan from DNG O’Sullivan Hurley believes this is due to high costs and tight regulations associated with renting out a property and insists and that some form of tax incentive is urgently needed to stop rising rents.
