Efforts are underway to ensure a famous historic site in Shannon is fully restored and protected into the future.
Hastings Cottage in Illaunamanagh was one of a number of safe houses used during the War of Independence and was once used to keep a high ranking British officer imprisoned.
The heritage organisation – Duchas na Sionna are proposing to do a full restoration on the ruin and to run workshops during the course of the restoration.
