There’s been a sharp rise in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.
The latest INMO figures show 73 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 35 of those in the emergency department alone.
It’s the busiest hospital in the country by far – the overall figure is 17 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital.
