Clare’s Senior Footballers have returned to winning ways with a win over Cavan this afternoon.
The Banner went into the game as the underdogs after two back-to-back defeats in the League, while Cavan sat firmly atop the Division 2 table.
The Banner had found the first half a potential banana skin in a number of the League games this year when they found themselves fighting back from a half-time deficit.
However, that was far from what happened in Cavan when a Joe McGann goal helped Clare to a six point lead.
The Breffni men came out charging though, and within five minutes of the second half they had reduced the gap to a single point.
Colm Collins’ men kept their cool though and managed to fight back to a two point victory.
Full time score was Clare 1-14, Cavan 0-15.
Clare face Armagh and Fermanagh next, both of which will be played in Ennis.
