There’s been a drop of almost 5% in the number of new cars sold in Clare in the first two months of the year, compared with this time last year.
The latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows that a total of 1,002 have been sold as of the end of February; down from 1,053 by the same time in 2019.
Toyota has overtaken Nissan as the preferred car of choice in Clare, accounting for 12.5% of all car sales here in 2020, with Nissan dropping to second and Skoda, Volkswagen and Ford rounding off the top five.
