Hopes have been expressed that works on a long-term project to alleviate flooding issues at Springfield, Clonlara may not be far away.
Last night’s Council meeting heard confirmation that the local authority expects Councillors will be able to vote on a revised plan for the project at their April meeting.
Original plans for the project were withdrawn after they were met with an objection, and in the absence of a long-term flooding solution, the area has been hit with significant flooding in recent weeks.

Local Independent Councillor Michael Begley is now hopeful that the threat of flooding in Springfield could be eased.
