There’s been a broad welcome for clarification surrounding the re-opening of DIY or hardware stores.
Confusion arose in recent weeks, after new legislation deemed hardware outlets, builder merchants and providers to be essential retail outlets that were allowed to open.
But Business Minister, Heather Humphreys has now said that while these stores are essential traders, they may only open during the COVID-19 pandemic in the case of “emergencies”.
