An additional 200 people in Clare have signed on for the government’s Pandemic Unemployment Payment in the past week.
Figures from the Department of Social Protection show that there are now 14,500 people in receipt of the payment in this county.
Meanwhile 13,000 more people have closed their claim with the department, bringing the total number of closed claims to 64,000.

This is largely attributed to employers taking employees back on the payroll under the Temporary COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme.
