The army bomb disposal team has made a suspect device safe after it was found by Gardaí in a raid on a South Galway farm.
Acting on intelligence, Gardaí from Gort and Loughrea – searched lands at Castledaly in the Sliabh Aughty mountains yesterday morning.
As the operation continued into the afternoon, they discovered two boxes of ammunition and a suspect device.

The device was made safe by the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit, and Gardaí say investigations are continuing.
