Clare’s Independent TD has admitted that advice related to the coronavirus which has been given to TDs would be unworkable in the vast majority of workplaces.
The COVID-19 committee, which met for the first time yesterday, was given medical advice that people who spend two hours in a room together over a 24 hour period would be considered a close contact.
It resulted in the decision to hold committee meetings lasting no more than 2 hours, with some participating via video link.

Scariff Deputy Michael McNamara, who is Chair of the COVID-19 committee, admits the regulations couldn’t be implemented in other workplaces.
