A new campaign has been launched to raise awareness for domestic violence victims that help is still there when it’s needed.
An initiative by the Clare Local Area Network on Violence Against Women, the ‘Now More Than Ever’ campaign aims to highlight that the courts are still running and supports are still in place and working together for victims of domestic abuse.
Victims are also encouraged to come forward and report crimes, even if they may have been in breach of COVID-19 regulations when it occurred.
Rape Crisis Midwest has reported an increase in calls from women sexually assaulted at parties, who are afraid to report to the Gardaí as they were breaking lockdown rules but Sergeant Catriona Holohan from Ennis Garda Station appealed to victims to still seek help.
