The VAT rate for the hospitality sector should be lowered, according to recommendations from the Covid-19 Oireachtas Committee.
The group has published its first report after weeks of hearing from witnesses from the industry – on how it has been affected by the pandemic.
In the report it says the July stimulus package should include a mix of more grant aid – and the offer of loans for businesses to help them stay afloat, with many saying they’ve already accrued too much debt.
