There have been no new deaths reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre today.

There has now been a total of 1,763 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

The HPSC has been notified of 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with the denotification of one case bringing the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland to 25,845.

A thirty-day run without any COVID-19 in Clare was broken on Sunday July 12th, with the announcement of one additional case here.

However, today the CSO declared that Clare had gone five full weeks without any cases whatsoever – their data runs up until last Friday, July 17th.

On foot of enquiries by Clare FM, the HSE has now confirmed that the latest case had previously been diagnosed in another area, and then re-assigned to Clare as part of a process of data validation.

It means there have been no new cases of the virus have been notified here since the second week of June.
