A West Clare library won’t re-open to the public as normal, because it will instead be used as a classroom for a local school.
While Kildysart library was originally supposed to reopen on a part-time basis, the Clare County Library service was approached by St John Bosco Community School to use its space as a classroom for the coming year, because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Library members can still avail of books through a click and collect service, in which members are invited to order books from the library in Kilkee, and collect them from outside the library in Kildysart on Friday afternoons.
Senior Executive Librarian with Clare County Council, Cora Gunter, says the public has been very grateful for their efforts to keep the library services running.
