Clare’s longest serving Councillor has again hit out at planning policies here, stating that they are not working to the benefit of local residents.
Concerned about issues including the closure of schools and shops, and the refusal by Clare County Council to grant planning permission for homes to be built in some areas of West Clare, Lissycasey Fianna Fáil Councillor PJ Kelly told Monday’s Council meeting that “West Clare is for the tourists…. locals are being weeded out.”
