Galway Diocese Not Asked To Postpone Clare Communion And Ceremonies

The Diocese of Galway has NOT been asked to postpone its First Holy Communion and Confirmation ceremonies in Clare.

The HSE had asked the Diocese of Killaloe to postpone any remaining ceremonies in its Clare parishes, due to the increases in the number of cases of COVID-19 here.

However, in the adjoining Diocese – which does contain parts of North Clare – no such request has been made by health authorities, even though there has also been a high rate of COVID-19 in Co. Galway.

It’s not known if any Communion or Confirmation ceremonies will go ahead in that part of North Clare this weekend, as the scheduling of such events is a matter for parishes, but the Galway Diocesan office has told Clare FM that most parishes have concluded their ceremonies at this stage.
