Clare people are being reminded to protect themselves and others around them as Fire Safety Week begins.
The campaign, running until next Monday, is encouraging all homes to have smoke alarms and to test them weekly.
Figures published by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government show a total of 16 individuals were killed in fires in 2019.
