There’s been another drop in overcrowding numbers at the region’s main hospital.
However, University Hospital Limerick remains the most overcrowded hospital in the country today, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
There are 49 patients waiting for a bed as of the morning at the Dooradoyle – that’s 19 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital.

It comes on a day when 191 patients are waiting for a bed in facilities across the country – over a quarter of them at University Hospital Limerick.
