Young Man Hospitalised Following Fall From Ruin In North Clare

A young man is recovering in hospital after he was injured in a “fall from a structure” in North Clare.

It’s understood the man in his 20s was climbing up a ruined castle outside Ennistymon yesterday evening, when he lost footing and fell about ten feet to the ground.

Ambulance and units from Clare County Fire Service were dispatched to the scene, as well as volunteer members of the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard.

The young man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for leg and arm fractures as well as a head injury.
