The Clare branch of SVP has expressed concern over an expected increase in demand for their services before the end of the year.
New figures released by the CSO show 149,000 additional people were going without basics in 2019 compared to 2018, despite an increase in average incomes.
Those who are unable to work due to illness or a disability make up 37.5 percent of people at risk of poverty.
