Clare Say ‘Fire’ And ‘Battle’ Needed For Laois Encounter

Clare’s senior hurlers say they’ll be meeting the challenge of Laois in the All Ireland qualifiers with ‘fire’ and ‘battle’.

Brian Lohan’s men are preparing to take on Eddie Brennan’s charges in the first round of the back door series on Saturday at Nowlan Park.

Should Clare get past the Leinster side, any one of Cork, Dublin, All Ireland champions Tipperary or Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford could await them next time out.

However, Eire Og club man David Reidy says they’re not looking beyond Laois’ challenge – and the Banner’s League victory over them earlier this year gives them confidence going into the game.

That one throws in at 1.15 on Saturday at UPMC Nowlan Park in Kilkenny – Clare FM will have full live commentary of the game, in association with Matt Waters Clare Fruit & Veg Market on the Turnpike Road, and Geraghty’s Spar and Off Licence, Ennis.
