Wynne Joins Calls For Single Agency To Deal With River Flooding

Clare’s Sinn Fein TD has added her voice to calls for a single, specialist agency to be set up to co-ordinate flooding along the River Shannon.

Flooding along the river has become an almost annual problem for residents along the river’s banks, including in the likes of Springfield in Clonlara.

The River Shannon Management Agency Bill was debated in the Dail last night, with Minister Patrick O Donovan indicating he will examine the legal implications of creating a single agency in the coming months.
