Over 18,000 euro in Goverment funding has been allocated towards projects in Clare, under the Communities Integration Fund initiative.
Lisdoonvarna Fáilte has been granted €3,670 to continue projects that benefits the asylum seeker population there, while Glór in Ennis has been awarded a grant of €5,000 and €2,950 has been earmarked for Clare Haven Services and Doras Luimni.
The King Thomond Hotel, which is the site of a direct provision centre, has received the largest allocation of 10,000 euro, for it’s two proposed projects, growing fruit and veg for the local community and an integration play date between the local children and residents.
Hotel Director, Megan White says they’re determined to get their projects off the ground even through COVID-19 restrictions.
