A former Clare All-Ireland winner believes the Banner have been drawn against an out of form Wexford side in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Qualifiers.
Brian Lohan’s men narrowly overcame Laois over the weekend to set up a clash with Davy Fitzgerald’s side, who bowed out of the Leinster Championship to 2017 All-Ireland winners Galway.
A quarter final place is on offer for the winners – for Clare, it would likely see them take on the losers of the Leinster final between Galway and Kilkenny.
1995 and 1997 Liam MacCarthy winner with the Banner Ger ‘Sparrow’ O’Loughlin says neither Clare nor Wexford been able to hit the ground running yet.
