Work on the long-awaited flood defences for Clonlara will get underway in April 2021.
An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission for the construction of a flood defence embankment in the village earlier this month.
The area has experienced recurrent flooding in recent years, with the Springfield area among the hardest hit.
