Nurses say the region’s main hospital remains three times busier than any other facility in the country today.
The latest INMO figures show 69 patients were left waiting on trolleys at the Dooradoyle facility this morning, 51 of those in the emergency department.
The overall figure is 53 more than the next busiest hospital on a day when 187 patients have been waiting to be admitted across the country.

Meanwhile, the number of patients being treated for Covid-19 at the Dooradoyle facility remains unchanged at 9, with one covid patient in the ICU.
