A Clare GP has raised concern about a rise in elderly people, in particular, presenting with severe anxiety, depression and stress during the third wave of the pandemic.
Dr Yvonne Williams says a historical lack of resources is compunding issues presented by the pandemic, with many services now unavailable due to increased restrictions.
New figures show that 70 million additional anti-depressant tablets were dispensed across the country between January and October last year, compared with the same period in 2019.
