The number of people in Clare claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment has now reached its highest level in over six months.
More than 9,300 people in this county will receive the government support today – a figure not seen here since the 7th of July.
It’s a jump of more than 1,100 people in just seven days – though still falls short of the peak of 14,600 in early May last year.

Separately, another 169 people in Clare have begun availing of the Enhanced Illness Benefit this week.
