McInerney Canvasses FF Members In Seanad Election Bid

Doonbeg businesswoman Rita McInerney has been nominated to secure the Fianna Fáil nomination for the upcoming Seanad election.

The former CEO of Ennis Chamber was one of 13 candidates who put their cases towards the party’s TDs and Senators during their online weekly meeting last night.

There are currently two vacant seats in the Seanad, and a deal between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil is expected to see one candidate from each party fill the roles.

Rita McInerney polled 7% of first preference votes in her unsuccessful run for a Dáil seat in last year’s General Election.
