The manager of St Joseph’s Doora Barefield is calling for a pre-season tournament to be held for senior football sides in Clare before the beginning of this year’s club championship.
The GAA’s fixtures calendar had initially penciled in the beginning of the club season for the end of July, though this appears certain to be pushed out further due to current COVID-19 restrictions.
Kevin Frehill will take charge of the Ennis side at senior level in 2021 after they won Clare’s Intermediate championship last year.

Frehill says a tournament similar to the Cusack Cup would be of major benefit to teams before championship action gets underway in the summer.
