Ennis Superintendent Confident Resources Are Enough To Curb Drug Crime In Clare

The Superintendent of Ennis Garda Station is confident law enforcement in this county has enough resources to curb an increasing drugs problem in Clare.

This week’s meeting of the Joint Policing Committee was told offences relating to the sale and supply of drugs rose by 39 per cent in 2020, with the possession of drugs rising by more than 20 per cent in twelve months prior.

It backs up CSO data released at the end of last year which suggested Clare is seeing the highest number of drugs offences since records began back in 2003.
