Clare County Council has agreed to recommence upgrade works on Parnell Street in Ennis.
The local authority had called a halt to the project after level five restrictions were reintroduced, having previously not deemed the works as meeting the criteria for “essential” construction.
Minister for Local Government Darragh O Brien met with the Council last week to express his support for the works to begin again.

It’s now understood contractors could be back working on site as soon as next week.
Ennis Chamber CEO Margaret O Brien believes businesses will be in a better position to thrive once they reopen now the project has recommenced.
