A Limerick man, who is hoping to become the first Irish person to solo-circumnavigate in a non-stop sailing, is planniing to begin and end his journey in West Clare.
Peter Lawless will embark on what he expects to be a journey of at least eight months from Kilrush in August.
His father sailed the world successfully after two failed attempts back in 1996, also ending his journey in Kilrush.
