This week, the Fianna Fáil cumann in Slane, Co. Meath penned a letter calling for Taoiseach Micheál Martin to step aside as leader of the party.
The letter was sent to all Fianna Fáil TD’s and senators.

In it, the grassroots party members say now is the time for “someone with fire in his/her belly,” to “reignite our pride in our great party”.
The calls come as the latest opinion poll shows a further drop in support for the party with Fianna Fáil dropping from 16% to 13%.
On Friday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Fianna Fail Cllr from Sixmilebridge Alan O’Callaghan who believes Micheál will not be leader by the end of the year.
