A chapter in a new book called Proud to Serve: The Voices of the Women of Cumann na nGaedheal and Fine Gael 1922-1992, is dedicated to the impact that Madeleine made by becoming the first female deputy in the Banner County.

She discussed the political landscape, how difficult it is for women to enter the ‘old boys club’, what she would like to see done to encourage more women to become involved in politics and also weighed in on maternity leave for TD’s.
