Clare’s Chief Superintendent says he is examining the possibility of having more Gardaí on the streets of Ennis in an attempt to combat anti-social behaviour in the town.
Concerns have been expressed in the last number of weeks about residents near Hermitage and the Considine Terrace areas being intimidated by groups and individuals in the area.
Local representatives in the Ennis Municipal District have been calling for increased communication with An Garda Siochana on the matter, and did so again at yesterday’s quarterly meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee.
Chief Superintendent of the Clare Garda Division, Sean Colleran, says more uniformed boots on the ground may be deployed in Ennis if resources allow, in an effort to curb the issue.
