Trolley Numbers At UHL Three Times Higher Than All Other Facilities Nationally

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is three times higher than any other facililty across the country.

The latest INMO figures show 63 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 40 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is a slight reduction on yesterday’s high of 70, which prompted an appeal from the UL Hospitals Group for people to only attend the ED in the case of serious illness or injury.
