Calls In Clare For Roadmap For Intercounty Travel Ahead Of Government Announcement On Restrictions

The Chair of the Shannon branch of the Irish Hotels Federation is calling for a roadmap for the return of intercounty travel, which he says is needed for the industry to remain viable this summer.

More level five restrictions are easing today, as the country re-opens further, with zoos, petting farms and heritage sites allowed to re-open to the public today, while some outdoor sports can resume.

Young people can resume non-contact training in pods of less than 15 and the number of people allowed to attend a funeral has increased to 25.

The government is set to reveal its plan this Thursday for the further reopening of parts of society and the economy over June, July and August.

Co-owner of the Shannon Springs Hotel, Dermot Kelly says with summer bookings so far in Clare and elsewhere very low, some certainty is needed.
