Tubber’s Derek O Connor is hopeful of success this week as the Punchestown festival gets underway this evening.
The traditional season-ender to Irish jump racing sees the two mile Champion Chase as the feature on day one.
O Connor has three rides on the card, as he climbs aboard the unraced Springwell Bay and Viva Devito in the evening’s two bumpers.

In between those, he’ll look for success on You Cannot Be Serious in the Fr Sean Breen Memorial Chase.
The Tubber man says despite the horse being absent for two years, he says the firm ground may pave the way for him to end up in the winners enclosure in the colours of JP McManus.
