AZ and J&J Vaccines Should Be Offered To 18 to 30-Year-Olds Says Clare GP

A Clare GP believes people aged between 18 and 30 should be given the opportunity to avail of the AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

NIAC has recommended reducing the age limit for the two vaccines from 50 to 40 years, with people in their 40s given the choice of using the the two jabs under strict conditions.

Ennis GP Dr Máire Finn believes most of the public concern of the safety of the jabs is misplaced, saying people only have a one in a million chance of suffering a rare blood clotting event.

Dr Finn thinks teenagers and young adults should be offered the Astrazeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines, if there are issues with over-supply.
