Lahinch Children’s Learner Pool Given Green Light As Part Of Major Project

A much needed children’s learner pool has been given the green light as part of one of the county’s largest regeneration projects.

Lahinch Seaword closed at Christmas two years ago to undertake a refurbishment programme which was required to sustain what was a decaying facility for the next 30 years.

But the development, which is will be the only A-Rated leisure centre in the country powered fully by renewable energy, didn’t include a children’s learner pool.

Funding has now been secured from two philanthropic funds, an ongoing local fundraiser and Clare County Council supports to allow the development go ahead as it was originally envisioned.

Former Lahinch Seaworld Manager and Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy, who led the way in securing the majority of funding for the project says its so much more than just a swimming pool.
