Trolley Numbers Continue To Rise At Region’s Main Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to rise, as the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show there were 62 patients waiting for beds at Univeristy Hospital Limerick this morning, 42 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 36 more than the next busiest facility; Mayo University Hospital, and represents around a quarter of all patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
