Clare’s Fine Gael Senator is calling for further financial support to be given to businesses affected by the delay in the resumption of indoor hospitality.
It comes as representatives from the hospitality sector will meet senior government ministers later over the decision to delay reopening indoor dining by two weeks.
Reacting to criticism of the decision that indoor dining will be limited to fully vaccinated cohorts, but can be facilitated by servers who still haven’t been inoculated, Martin Conway has expressed hope that a so-called ‘two tier’ society wouldn’t be present for long as vaccination ramps up.
The Ennistymon Senator, who’s his party’s Seanad Spokesperson on Health has vowed to press the Tánaiste and Fine Gael Ministers for an acceleration in financial supports for hospitality businesses affected.
