An Ennis childcare provider is making fresh calls for the Government to outline how it intends to double its investment in the sector within seven years.
It comes after a report from Early Childhood Ireland has outlined this country is at “the bottom of the class” in Europe in the amount of investment provided for caring for children.
Providers are now calling on the Government to begin increasing funding and to announce a plan on how it will achieve the target within Budget 2022.

Claire Tuohy, who’s owner of the Lifford Childcare Centre in Ennis, insists the potential 970 million euro investment would be money well spent.
