Moloney Pleased With Kilmurry Resilience After Ennistymon Win

Kilmurry Ibrickane manager Aidan Horse Moloney feels his side were rewarded for a patient approach as they picked up their first win of this year’s Clare senior football championship.

The Bricks overcame Ennistymon by 1-10 to 0-7 to move joint top of the Group One standings after the opening two rounds.

A third quarter goal from Enda Coughlan proved to be a crucial score while five unanswered points before half-time set the platform for a comfortable win.

Moloney says his side grew into the contest as the game went on

Cratloe joined the holders at the top of the table after withstanding a late Miltown fightback to earn a share of the spoils.

Last year’s beaten finalists looked to have stolen a march when Shane Neville’s third quarter goal saw them lead by four points at the final water break.

County captain Eoin Cleary led the Miltown revival as he landed the last four scores of the game to see the sides finish level.

Cratloe boss Colm Collins felt the result was a fair one
