Inagh-Kilnamona have put themselves into pole position to make the knockout stages of the Clare senior hurling championship.
Eugene Cullinan’s side saw off the challenge of last years beaten finalists O’Callaghans Mills to go top of the Group One standings with a perfect record after two games.
A strong closing quarter saw them secure a 0-23 to 1-16 win, with games against Whitegate and Clonlara to come next for the Combo.
Cullinan says they knew it was going to be a battle, but was pleased with how his side responded to the challenge
Elsewhere in Group One, Whitegate opened their season with a spirited showing in defeat as Kilmaley picked up their first points of the campaign.
A flurry of late points saw Kilmaley run out winners by 1-24 to 2-12, with the game having been in the balance at the final water break.
Whitegate boss Terence Fahy felt his side could have no complaints about the result
