Calls For Full Midwest Ambulance Review Following East Clare Woman’s Five Hour Wait

There are calls for the HSE to undertake a full review into ambulance services in the Midwest following an East Clare woman’s five hour wait for assistance at a local GP.

The Tulla resident is understood to have waited from 11.30am for an ambulance at the local health centre on Tuesday, which didn’t arrive until around 5pm.

The woman subsequently received treatment at University Hospital Limerick for her condition.

The HSE has told Clare FM while it cannot comment on individual cases, the National Ambulance Service continues to experience a ‘surge in demand’.

Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley says a full review of the incident needs to be undertaken, and that such significant delays are unacceptable.
