Further disruption to water supply is expected in parts of the county, following a delay in getting major upgrade works underway at a West Clare treatment plant.
The current phase of works at the new Doolough Water Treatment Plant were due to be concluded at the end of this week, however Irish Water says capacity will now be reduced until October 4th.
This means there could be further disruption to supply in the Kilrush, Kilkee, Kilmihil, Doonbeg, Quilty, Carrigaholt and all surrounding areas, including all group water schemes fed from this supply.
Tankered water remains in place at fifteen locations to provide an alternative water supply to customers in the event of water outage, with customers reminded to use their own containers and to boil water before consumption.
