A late Danny Reddan point saved Broadford from the relegation play-off when they drew 0-9 each with Crusheen in Sixmilebridge last night.
Broadford had led 0-3 to 0-1 after the first quarter but then Crusheen took over and led 0-7 to 0-4 at half-time.
Five minutes from full-time, Crusheen led 0-9 to 0-6 but two Padraig Hickey points, followed by Reddan’s equaliser snatched draw and condemned Crusheen to the relegation round robin.
Crusheen manager, Kevin Sheehan, felt that his side gave it everything but just came up short.
While he was disappointed with the result, he felt that if they had turned a three point lead into a four point gap, that might have proven too much for Broadford.
While Crusheen didn’t lose, the draw meant that they now have to overcome a number of injury concerns if they are to avoid relegation to intermediate for 2022.
